CHAI SPICE AROMATHERAPY ROOM MIST

Living in inner city Brisbane, I am spoilt for choice in terms of natural and ethical supplies available and places to shop. -My favourite for my lotion and potion supplies is Handmade Naturals at Highgate Hill just out of the city, where you can get little jars and spray bottles as well as raw ingredients.

I LOVE the scent (and taste!) of Chai. I put together this little blend the other night and it is divine. I've been using it in the bathroom as an air freshener. The vinegar and the green tea seem to snap any nasty odors right out of the air. The chai scent does not hang around too long, but as with most earthy scents, I expect this will layer over time and become more obvious .  You can of course substitute the essential oils used for your own preferred blends. The active ingredients are the vinegar (or witch hazel) and green tea, both for their odor neutralising properties.

For this recipe you will need:
  • A little spray bottle
  • White vinegar - you could also use witch hazel
  • A few Cardamon Pods
  • A few Black peppercorns
  • 4 drops Cinnamon Essential Oil
  • 3 drops Clove Bud Essential Oil (you could also substitute with actual cloves)
  • 3 drops Orange Essential Oil
  • 2 drops Patchouli Essential Oil
  • Green tea
Method:
  • Fill the spray bottle half with vinegar/witch hazel
  • Crush the cardamon to release its scent
  • Add the cardamon and the black pepper to the bottle
  • Add the essential oils
  • Top up with green tea
  • Shake it up and leave it to infuse for a day or two before use
